WIFF: From Self-Doubt to Unstoppable

This is another edition of “What I’m Feeling,” your weekly dose of thoughts, musings, and discoveries to kickstart your weekend on a reflective note. I almost didn’t release the podcast this week; it was a real and honest conversation about motherhood and loss, and setting the stage for what’s to come this year. Your responses have been incredible, and we’re putting words to feelings many have struggled to share. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and letting me know I’m not alone.

Behind the Scenes of the Podcast:

Recording this week’s podcast was challenging, with multiple takes and moments when the mic wasn’t even on, but more than anything, I felt so exposed. I almost pulled the plug on releasing it. My therapist and I discussed my apprehension, and I’m grateful I didn’t let the part of me that was calling myself “whiny” win. The messages I’ve gotten from you this week have been a collective sigh of understanding, and I appreciate them all. Whether you’re a parent, an entrepreneur, or someone navigating life’s transitions, this episode has something valuable for everyone.

Christmas Gift I’m Loving:

I started the first week of the year with three workouts and pushed myself to lift heavier weights. The Therabody Theragun Mini has been a game-changer for my sore muscles. If you’re into fitness or looking to ease muscle tension, this might be the perfect addition to your routine.

Book Recommendation – “Breath” by James Nestor:

I’m fascinated by “Breath” by James Nestor, exploring the lost art of breathing. Nestor dives deep into the importance of breathing for our health and well-being, highlighting how, as a species, we’ve lost the ability to breathe correctly. It’s a fascinating read that might make you reconsider how you approach something as fundamental as breathing.

Stay Tuned for Next Week:

In the upcoming episode, we’ll delve into imposter syndrome with experts Dr. Lisa and Richard Orbe-Austin, both psychologists, career, and executive coaches. A quote from that episode that has been on replay in my mind is: “When you work as hard for yourself as you do for others, you’re going to be unstoppable.” Get ready for an insightful interview that just might be the motivation you need.

Until next week, take good care of yourself.
