Crafting My Solo Productivity Symphony: Desk, Document, and Calendar

I’m sharing my experience with a new task management system I tried out this week. Since September, I’ve worked solo after having had assistants and teams working with me for over a decade. After some trial and error, I found a system that worked for me and completed all but two tasks.

I based my system on Jeff Huang’s article, “My productivity app is a never-ending .txt file.” Instead of the .txt file, I used a Google Document to list all my tasks and added it to my desktop and iPhone home screen. I then scheduled my day and added everything to my calendar using Fantastical. Whenever I completed a task, I struck it off the list – those desktop calendar reminders were incredibly helpful. If something didn’t get done, I moved it to the next day.

NEW PODCAST: 169: Why Haven’t You Done It? (And here if you listen on Spotify)

“The most important thing to know is what the limit of your knowledge is.”

You might have noticed that I numbered my podcasts. This is to make it easier for you to find specific tracks based on your needs or mood. If you have already listened to the latest episode, I recommend vintage episodes 15, 99, and 162 as they are currently popular. Also, I can’t stop thinking about Jeni’s Boozy Eggnog Ice Cream – it’s definitely worth a try!

Until next week!
